A little bit about me…

I have been a public school teacher in the Bronx since 2005. I’ve received a B.A. from New York University, M.A. from Pace University, and Ed.M. from the Bank Street Graduate School of Education. I started my career as a bilingual teacher, and have since devoted myself to empowering multilingual learners and students of color in Title 1 schools.

My work with civics and comics in the classroom has been featured on CBS News, mentioned in the UFT’s New York Teacher, discussed during an interview with Michael Hill at the WNYC Radio Station, and was part of a New York Comic Con panel with LitX, “Comics Unleashed.”

  • From Classroom to Community:

At our K-8 school in the Bronx, we’re all about getting our students involved in caring for the community. Thanks to New Yorkers for Parks and the #DaffodilProject, every student is digging in and planting daffodil bulbs in our local park and tree beds. It’s amazing to see how passionate these kids are about taking…

  • Engaging Students Through Memorable Learning

To maintain student engagement in lessons, educators should incorporate varied techniques that foster excitement and memorable learning.
